I'm Lost

Have you ever felt like you don’t know where to begin?

Maybe you’re overwhelmed by everything that needs to get done and can’t decide what to start with.

Maybe you’re so frustrated with someone that you feel trapped in anger.

Maybe you feel such deep sadness or despair that you can’t see a next move at all.

Connecting with any of these moments is human—you’re not alone.

And yet, knowing that rarely helps.

What we really want to know is: Where do I begin? How do I begin?

We begin with orientation.

If you woke up in the middle of the woods with no idea where you were, your first step wouldn’t be to run or shout.

You’d stop, look around, and orient yourself.

That’s where you always begin.

The same is true in life.

When you don’t know where to start, start by orienting yourself on the Compass of Language—Automatic, Knowing, Experiencing, Choosing, Healing.

All human moments can be found somewhere on the Compass.

Ask yourself: Where am I right now?

That single question can lift you out of the stuck place and begin to orient you.

Once oriented, you can actually move.

Orientation opens all paths.
